m/ issue 1 - metanoia

what does the word metanoia mean?

in simple terms it means growth.

it is the journey we all go on in this life shit. it represents the choice that we made as GOD consciousness or whatever you want to call it to fall into the material to experience all of this and rise. when everything was one and infinite, there was no differentiation between anything, nothing to overcome, nothing to learn or seek or grow. everything was already perfect. So metanoia is the journey through all the contrast and more so like a play. it really is the play, in this, illusory playground school thing

is creating or sharing art more meaningful?

it's kind of a chicken or the egg situation because obviously we need to create it to be able to share it, but without sharing it what kind of meaning does what you create have if people can’t experience it ? so i guess the answer is non-dual haha. but I would say sharing for sure. i feel like the meaning is found in the sharing and experiencing of it, in all the ways it reflects aspects of the viewer.

what do you like most about what you do?

being able to provide the space for connection I guess, yeah. whether that's between people, between the environment, between you and yourself, yeah like all of it. connecting, growing, playing

do you think the modern human experience lacks something?

yes and no because the contrast is needed and and is perfect despite being “bad”. so my metaphysical answer is there's gotta be lack for something to fulfil it, was even listening to something the other day talking about how the Joker is the real hero because without the Joker, Batman had nothing to overcome and bring in justice and all that. so the lack is perfect & is actually what brings in the whole.

but let’s not get too deep and shit haha i would say in the current human experience &fashion industry it feels like there is a lack of realness and authenticity. a lot of the way we live now, particularly clothes, are solely used as a status symbol. like, if, let's say walmart was producing the things that balenciaga was, would people still be buying it or look at it in the same way? or on the contrary i see so many extremely talented people who should be selling out all their work but don’t due to a “lack” of social proof.

the whole “oh, how much does your fit cost?” or “i saw this celebrity buy this so i want it now” is so corny and superficial there’s no soul in that.So all of this comes down to a lack of love. we should love not only ourselves but each other, our environment, what we do and wear, everything is the same thing so whenever we do some dumb shit we are doing that to ourselves, we just gotta keep that in mind and love instead. some may think it’s all hippy hoo-ha but it’s real shit we all know it

who are some people or artists that you look up to?

man, uh the list is endless um from people in my life like Yom, Milo, Sofu, Diego, Dylan, Joey but yeah and then of course there’s the people that we all kind of look up to from Virgil, Kanye, Tyler, the creator, Rick Rubin, just all these people. Leonardo da Vinci. Was that his name? Alan Watts and Buddha, and my personal favourite Jesus Christ. the list is endless and I think that's also what I'm trying to do with this whole, like, WE thing. It's not the curious mind of me, it's the curious mind of we. It's us and we make this experience. of course things come out through an individual, but it's the culmination of all those people that make this so beautiful. all these different aspects. it really is WE. it’s in everyone, i even look up to people I've talked to on the street. Yeah, it's everywhere.

do you have a favourite colour for the belt?

I'd be biased to say metanoia green um but i really like the purple and the Y red, also inspired by and is kind of a tribute to my friend Diego.
